GE Appliance Repair Across Toronto & GTA
GE Appliances is a cornerstone of the North American appliance market, now owned by Haier and continuing to produce reliable refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and cooking appliances under the GE, GE Profile, and Café brands. GE appliances are extremely common in Toronto and GTA homes, and our technicians carry extensive GE parts inventories.
Common GE appliance issues we fix: GE fridge not cooling (condenser fan motor, evaporator fan, thermistor), GE top-load washer not spinning (drive coupler, motor control board), GE dryer not heating (thermal fuse, cycling thermostat), GE dishwasher not draining (drain solenoid, pump), GE oven not heating (igniter, bake element, control board). Most GE repairs completed on the first visit. 90-day warranty on every repair.
Common GE Appliance Problems We Fix
GE Refrigerator Problems
- Ice maker not working — the single most common GE fridge repair call. Affects all GE fridge series including Profile and Cafe. Usually caused by a failed ice maker module, frozen fill tube, or defective water inlet valve.
- Fridge not cooling — can be a sealed system issue (compressor, evaporator, or refrigerant leak) or a failed main control board. GE Profile and Cafe French door models are especially prone to control board failures.
- Water dispenser not working — often caused by a frozen water supply line or a faulty water filter housing in GE side-by-side and French door refrigerators.
GE Washer & Dryer Problems
- Dryer not heating — the most common cause is a blown thermal fuse or a failed heating element. GE electric dryers (GTD series) are especially affected. We test and replace the faulty component same-day.
- Radiant flame sensor issues (gas dryers) — the flame sensor or gas valve coils can fail, preventing the dryer from igniting. We carry replacement parts for same-day repair.
- Washer not spinning or agitating — a worn drive belt, failed motor coupling, or lid switch issue in GE top-load washers (GTW series) prevents the spin cycle.
GE Dishwasher & Oven Problems
- Dishwasher not draining — usually a clogged drain pump, blocked drain hose, or failed check valve. Common in GE Profile dishwashers with the Piranha hard food disposer.
- Gas oven igniter failure — the igniter is the most-replaced part in GE gas ovens and ranges. If the oven takes too long to heat or won't heat at all, the igniter likely needs replacement.
